Are there charges for using my debit card?

Every person with a debit card has an account with specific information and limitations; some may be limited to, say 60 transactions a month without charge. If this works for you, great, but if not, beware of making purchases at a small cost for each further transaction. If you were to use your debit card on an ATM machine that your bank is not affiliated with, there may be an even smaller limit to transactions without charge. It pays to keep track of your card transactions! Moreover, some small businesses charge a couple of dollars for very small purchases on your debit card, say if you’re spending $2.00 or less. If they do charge a fee, they must post a sign saying so. To learn more about your personal limits and exceptions, contact your bank.
