Tips for Marketing Your Business on YouTube

Video Marketing via YouTube has really been a huge factor in the online marketing world.  YouTube videos can be used to market your business and bring traffic to your site.  Here are some tips when it comes to effective YouTube Marketing.

1. Anyone Can Do It

That’s right! Anyone can make a YouTube video.  You don’t have to hire actors, buy equipment, or have a fancy studio.  You can view a simple video with your phone or webcam.  If you are shy in front of a camera, then consider using PowerPoint to create a presentation that you can set to voice.

2. Learn The Things that Work

There are three types of videos that have proven to be successful on YouTube.  These include weird, funny and useful.  IF you create a video that fits into one of these categories, chances are you will have success.

3. Customization

You should customize your channel.  Change up your backgrounds, fonts and colors.  This is a great way to ensure that your videos will stand out among all of the others.  You can do this with PhotoShop.  If you don’t really know how to do it, then hire a freelancer to do it for you.

4. Put Your URL in the Description

Your web address should be in the beginning of your description.  This will help to market your site better.  You will need to add http:// in the beginning.  This makes it clickable.

5. Use Keywords Effectively

There are two ways to search for content via YouTube.  You can do it through the Categories tab and the Advanced Search tab.  It is really important to use keywords effectively so that people are able to find your video.  Use them in the title, tags and description section.  You should also include a call to action that will get people to make a business move.

6. Use Keywords that Other Successful Videos Use

IF you cannot think of great keywords, then you might want to consider looking at some of the successful videos in your industry.  This will help you to get some ideas based on relevancy and you can use those keywords.

7. Choose a Good Thumbnail Pic

Your first impression will really have a lot to do with the success of your video.  You will want to choose a good thumbnail that will get people interested in your video.  This will ensure that your viewing ratings are higher.

8. Use the Video Responses

Under each YouTube video, there is a section for comments.  There is also a way to post a video comment.  You can search out videos that are relevant in your market and post your video under theirs as a response.  You should not do this too much, or it may make you look like you are a spammer.

9. Create Playlists

IT is a good idea to create a playlist for your video and include relevant videos as well.  This helps to promote your video.  You will also want to consider keyword optimization in your playlist.  Once you make the list, then you can continue adding other videos to the list.

10. Don’t Create a Sales Pitch

Your video should not be where you sell your products and services.  You should just make it about valuable content.

11. Include a Call to Action

When you post your video, you will want to make sure that you include a call to action in the Annotations tab.  This will allow viewers to subscribe, like your page, or go to your site.

12. Have Contests

A great way to bring in new people to view your videos is by adding contests to your channel.  You should be creative when you create contests.  Think of something that your audience will find fun and exciting.  Also, you don’t have to spend a lot of money because most people just like the idea of winning.

13. Promote Outside of YouTube

You should promote your videos on your other social media sites as well.  This will help your videos to be seen more often.  You can also ask that people share your video with others.

14. Short and Sweet

Your video should not be longer than about two minutes.  If it is longer, it may not keep the attention of your viewers.

15. Create Regular Content

Try to upload new content weekly.  IT is a good idea to post 2 new videos each week.
